NEWMANS, CLARKS, KLEINS, McDANIELS, SHARPS, NIXONS, TEELS, KINGS, RUSHS, OGGS.These are just a few of the Surnames I am working on at the present. Our family first came to America in the early 1600`s shortly after the Mayflower arrived with its group of ocean travelers. The reason I know this is because my grandfather Charles Frederick Klein, God rest his soul told me this story shortly before his death in 1960. You should be very proud of your heritage Jerilyn, because you are a true blue American.Our family arrived here shortly after the Pilgrams on the Mayflower, Your great-great-greatgrandmother was a princess of the Iroquoi Nation and the family name was Teel at that time. Little did I know that he would soon be gone, I at that time was a silly teenager, and have felt so irritated with myself for not pressing him for more on the subject. It was many years before I decided that I would like to find out more about my family history. I started doing the research about 5 years ago, then purchased the Family Tree Program last year and have now over 2000 names in my family file.The Indian blood came from Grandfathers mothers side and so far have not been able to find the Teel I need to link us to the Iroquoi.
